CrossFit Kids S & S CrossFit strength and conditioning program for teens.

Coaches are Coach Amy Schmidt and Coach Mimi Stewart

Days offered: Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thur

What is Kids CrossFit: CrossFit Kids workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements that deliver a fitness that is broad, inclusive and general and scaleable for any participant at any level. Constantly varied means that, for the most part, no two workouts are the same, so kids and teens never get bored and the novelty of each workout keeps them excited about participating. The functional movements involve exercises that are fundamental to all things that kids need to do when they play-pull, push,run, throw, climb, lift and jump. Our workouts will increase physical competence in 10 fitness domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.--CrossFit Kids HQ
Cost: $75.00 per athlete for the month

HOUSTON SHOOTOUT#1

Our 16 National and 17 National teams traveled to Houston over the weekend to participate in the highly competitive Houston Shootout sponsored by AVA, Houston Juniors, Texas Tornados and Willowbrook.

Our Centex 17 National team started strong by defeating the No. 1 seed, Houston Skyline 18 RoShamBo. Their next match with Southwest Juniors 18 Asics was close, but Centex lost in 2 and then fell short again to Asics Willowbrook 18 Red, giving them a 12th place finish out of 48 teams.

Our Centex 16 National team beat GCVA 161 Coast in their opening match and then lost the second match to Houston Juniors 16 Molten. They recouped from their loss to Houston Juniors to go on to beat Woodlands Wave 16 Molten, giving them an 11th place win out of 48 teams.

The Houston Shootout tournaments provide some great competition for our teams and we look forward to our teams competing in the next rounds of the Shootout.

CENTEX 12 REGIONAL AND CENTEX 15 REGIONAL

The Centex 12 Regional and 15 Regional teams both took 2nd place wins at the ASC#2 in Austin today. This is a great start for these teams in their second weekend of play for the club season. We look forward to seeing how they will do as the season progresses!

Centex had a great start to our 2011/2012 Club Season over the weekend.

Four of our National teams competed in the Tour Warm-Up in Austin over the weekend and finished as follows:

Centex 14 National - 3rd Place, out of 40 teams
Centex 15 National - 2nd Place, out of 37 teams
Centex 16 National - 7th Place, out of 40 teams
Centex 17 National - 3rd Place, out of 26 teams

Other teams competing over the weekend were as follows:

Centex 12 National - First in Pool, IH 35 Power League #1
Centex 12 Regional - Second in Pool, IH 35 Power League #1

REFEREE AND SCOREKEEPING CLINIC

Centex will host a Referee and Scorekeeping Clinic on December 10th. Each girl must be scorekeeper certified as soon as possible, so please make every effort for your daughter to attend. They do not need to attend the Referee Clinic, as it is for the coaches and any parent who will assist the coach with referee duties.

This clinic is not run by Centex, so if you have any questions, please contact Ronnie Kaase, the Lone Star Facilitator, for more information. He can be reached at: rckaase@htu.edu

Cost of the clinic is $25.00.

Location: Athletic Performance Center

Referee Clinic - 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
